A Life Well-lived -- Curtis Clayton Sims

Curtis Sims was born December 8, 1943 in Toccoa, Georgia to Farris and Almetie Sims. He departed this life on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia. Mr. Sims was a quiet man and lived a peaceful and useful life. He was known to many as Curt and to his grands and great grands as Papa. He enjoyed playing the guitar and played in several bands throughout his lifetime.

On June 23, 1969 Curtis married the love of his life, Suzanne Brock. The two of them made their home in Columbus, Ohio for over 50 years. It was there that he started his own business, Sims Window Washing Service, which proved to be successful as he had commercial and residential clients.

He loved spoiling his wife, taking care of his properties, spending time with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mr. Sims resolved his business then worked part-time for JCPenny while planning his move back to Toccoa, Georgia in 2018. Before the decline of his health, he completed his goal of putting a
home on his land. He was always ready and willing to help anyone in any way he could.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, three brothers, son Raymond, Granddaughter Vanessa, seven brothers-in-law, and five sisters-in-law.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Suzanne, brother Coycie (Hazel), sister Ellie, one sister-in-law Ruby Brock, granddaughter Sierra, grandson Raymond, great grandchildren Gericho, Germaine, Egypt, E’zoni, Elijah, Evan, Keydon, Reigha , and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
