Mrs. Glorious C Almond was born Aug. 8, 1949, to the late Jimmie Lee Cunningham Sr. and the late Laura J Patterson in Moorehead, Miss. She grew up in New Orleans, where she married the late David Brown Jr., and they had 8 children. She later married her husband, Thomas E. Almond, of Commerce, Ga.
She was a hardworking, God-fearing woman who came to know the Lord at an early age. As a Seventh-day Adventist, she grew in the church and held offices within the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Top, Annie B, BY, Ruby Jean, JoAnn Hill, Willie Mae Davis; brothers, Johnnie Cunning and Jimmie Lee Cunningham Jr.; and grandchildren, Dontavian Brown and Asia Brown.
Survived by her husband, Thomas E (Tommy/Pops) Almond, of Commerce, Ga; daughters, Laverne Liggins (James Sr.), of Sulfur, La, Melissa Moncrief (Willie), of Albany, Ga, Angela Brown, of New Orleans, La, Davida Peppers (Samuel), of Braselton, Ga, Kiyona Brown, of Washington State, Roshanda Brown (Dejon), of Pendegrass, Ga, and Nikita Brown, of Toccoa, Ga; son, Gregory Brown, of Bryson City, NC; sister, Nellie Cunningham, of New Orleans; special niece, Sonya Cunningham; special nephew, Redell Patterson; special cousin, Preston Wright; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
