Mrs. Hilda Ruth Mosley McCurdy, affectionately known as "Mama Ruthie" by her grand- and great- grandchildren, was born and raised in Toccoa, GA on December 27, 1931 to the late Elijah and Ruth Mosley. Hilda and Frank R. McCurdy, Jr. who preceded her in death married in 1947 for 48 year. They shared a wonderful life together and were blessed with four children: Carol Linda of Atlanta, GA, Mark Anthony of Richmond, VA, Sandra Tewa (Raymond) of Fort Washington, MD and Stanley Andre (Juanita) of Atlanta, GA.

Her brothers/sisters who preceded her in death: Emell, Ramonia, Betty Jean, Shirley, Jeannie, William, Tommie Lee Smith, and grandson Ernest McCurdy.
She was a loving and kind mother, who was dedicated to her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her home.
Hilda was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, serving as deaconess and helping serve communion, a faithful member of the church's Busy Bee Association, assisting with Vacation Bible School, church dinners, and kitchen functions.
Mom loved reading cook books, making banana pudding, red velvet cake was easy for her, so she donated a lot of time to baking and giving to her church and others.
