James L Earl

James (Larry) Earl, 78 of Lavonia, Georgia, after a long illness, passed peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, surrounded by his family. Larry was born in Hartwell, Georgia on February 28, 1947 to the late Emerson and Macie Earl.

Larry attended Lavonia Technical School, and upon completing his studies, he became a technical laborer. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley (Jean) Earl whom he was married to for 48 years. He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Sandra Earl, Gloria Earl, and Ruth Earl.

Left to cherish his memories are his five daughters: Bridget (Freeman) Hill, Errica (Morrison) DuBose, Macie, Mahilda, and Moria Earl. His three sisters are Glenda Verdell, Sheryl Earl, Janice Hardy, and one brother, Michael Earl. Larry was also blessed to have 15 wonderful grandchildren: Bridget’s children - Mathius (Ashley), Jairus, Hannah, Netanya, and Unity. Errica’s children - Zachary and Osama. Macie’s children - Zakiyyah, Mishad, and Jeremiah. Mahilda’s children - Montavious, Zane, and Christian. Moria’s children, Morian and Damion. He also had eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
