John Bishop Morrison

John Bishop Morrison was born on April 6, 1937 in Hart County, Bowman, GA to the late John H. Morrison and the late Gester Brewer Morrison. He joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Bowman, GA at an early age. While yet a teenager, he moved to Waukegan, IL and made his home there and in Jamaica Queens NY. In his later years, he relocated to Toccoa, GA until the Lord called him home. "Uncle Bish", as he was known by family and friends, was a loving and compassionate family man who loved his children unconditionally and his family without fault. A family in need was only a phone call away and miles to travel to lend his hands were no obstacle. Almighty God, in His omnipotence, called Uncle Johnny home to eternal rest on August 10, 2022.

Johnny was preceded in death by both parents and a stepfather, the late Harper Leverette. Out of a family of 27 brothers and sisters from three marriages, 24 siblings preceded him in death and two siblings remain, Mrs. Sally Starks of Decatur, GA and Mrs. Doris James of Bowman, GA. Also preceding him in death are two children, Darrell Morrison and Michelle Morrison Williams. He leaves to cherish his memories, Mrs. Deborah Butler Morrison of Lagrange, GA, six children: Lawrence B. Brock (Nikicha) of South Berry, CN; Sherelle Morrison, Gregory Morrison, Sheila Morrison of Manhattan, NY; Nanette Morrison of Lagrange, GA; Tyrone Davidson (Brittany) of Zion, IL and Tamika Harden of Killen, AL; 20 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, relatives, friends and a precious friend, Mary J. Brock.
