Joseph William Keye was born on October 27, 1945 to the union of Rev. Lois Simpson Keye and Floyd Keye.
“Thunder Chicken” as he was proudly called by family and friends attended Whitman Street High School. He served this country in the U.S. Marine Corps and also fought in Vietnam as a Chemical Warfare Operator. After being discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps, he became a police officer for Toccoa police Force. As he continued his career, he later became a truck driver.
He became a member of Ellis Chapel CME Church where his membership continued on a regular basis.
Joesph later met and married the love of his life, Shirley Ann Reeder (who proceeded him in death). To this union their son was born Kaseem Keye.
Joseph leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son Kaseem Keye (Melissa). Two sisters, and a brother; Aunt Bessie Simpson. A grandson Shar’ Kerian Keye (Tiarah). Three great grand children, Armonie Turner, Shar’ Kerian Keye, Jr., and Aubrey Turner.
