Margie McKey

Margie Clarke McKey, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. She was born August 30, 1954 in Richmond, Virginia to Gloria Madison. Margie attended Virginia Commonwealth University where she graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Shortly after graduation, Margie began her career at the Psychiatric Institution of Richmond until 1982. In 1982, she joined the Navy and explored the world until November of 1986. Following Margie's tenure in the military, she relocated to San Diego, California and continued her career at Rancho Park Residential Treatment. While in San Diego, Margie met the love of her life, Todd, in June of 1991 and they wed September 7, 1991. In 1993, Margie and Todd relocated to Atlanta, Georgia until 1997 when they decided to move north to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Shortly after moving to Harrisburg, Margie worked for the Baptist Convention until 2000. Margie enjoyed shopping, traveling and spending time with friends and family. In addition to her mother preceding her in death, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Sylvia Coleman and brother, David M. Jones, Sr. Surviving are her husband, Rev. Todd E. Mckey; daughter, Gloria (Jeanie ) Mckey; two grandchildren, Christian and Monet Mckey; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. where viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 11 at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Rev. Michael F. Thurman officiating. Interment Virginia Veterans Cemetery. Livestreaming at scottsfuneralhome.com.
