William Mac Thompson

Mr. William Mack Thompson, son of the late Alfred and Mary Jane Jarrett Thompson, went home to his eternal rest on Monday, August 22, 2022.  He was the last of 17 children.

He was married to the late Bucilla Richie Thompson.  They were married for 64 years, 10 months and 8 days at the time of her death .They were blessed with 9 children, 4 of which preceded them in death, (Sons, Robert Thompson & Bobby Arthur & 2 daughters, Kaye & Faye Thompson) all of Toccoa, Ga.  He joined the St. Mark Baptist Church at an early age. He served as a deacon, church clerk and Sunday school teacher for many years. He also taught Sunday school at the Cleveland CME Church for several years. He was retired from Southern Railroad after 40 years as a cook. He also cooked for the Hunting and Fishing club of Toccoa for 30 years. He had his own lawn service for 20-25 years. He received a letter of proclamation from the City of Toccoa, also a letter from the retirement board of Southern Railroad. He was a 33^rd Degree Mason.

He leaves to cherish his memories, 2 sons, George (Mary) Thompson of Anderson, SC and Steve Thompson of Toccoa, GA. 2 daughters, Mac Ann Martin of Columbia, SC and Sarah (Lerome) Johnson of Toccoa, GA.  1 brother-in-law, James Richie of Martin, GA, 1 sister-in-law, Katie Richie of Jefferson, GA. 22 Grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and a host of great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
